Your equipment profile, brewing defaults, notifications, RAPT Pill, and keeping your data safe: cloud backup, exporting all your data, and stock as a spreadsheet.

On this page

Open Settings from the profile icon on any tab. It’s one short list in groups: Account, Brewing, Devices, Stock, App, Your data and Help. Each row shows its current setting; tap it for the detail.

Equipment

Settings → Equipment. Your equipment profile is your system: batch size, boil-off per hour, kettle and fermenter losses, mash efficiency, grain absorption, sparge temperature and grain temperature. New recipes start from it, and the water volumes and strike temperature are worked out with it. Presets for common systems (Grainfather, BrewZilla, Anvil and others) are there to start from; tweak one after a brew or two so it matches what you get.

Brewing defaults

Settings → Brewing defaults: mash temperature, fermentation temperature and days, and the ABV formula the app shows everywhere.

Brewer profile

Settings → Brewer profile: the name your brews are credited to on the club website.

RAPT Pill

Settings → RAPT Pill. Connect your RAPT account and a Pill’s gravity and temperature readings are added to your fermentation log automatically. The API secret stays in secure storage on the phone.

Stock and shopping list

Settings → Stock and shopping list:

  • Ask before taking ingredients out: Brew Day and Brewed show what will come out of stock first. On by default.
  • Add low stock to shopping list: anything that drops to its running-low level goes on the list.
  • Running-low levels for each type of ingredient.

Theme and notifications

  • Theme: light, dark, or follow the phone, right on the Settings list.
  • Notifications (Settings → Notifications): brew day step reminders, when each brew step is due, and inventory alerts, when stock runs low or something is added to your shopping list.

Backup and export

Settings → Backup and export.

  • Cloud backup is on while you’re signed in. Every recipe, brew log and saved schedule, your stock and your shopping list are backed up to your account, so a new phone or a reinstall gets them back when you sign in. If the same recipe was changed on two phones, the newer save wins and the other is kept as a copy. Sync now sends anything waiting.
  • Export all my data saves everything the app keeps for you as one file: recipes, brew logs and saved schedules, stock (with where it’s kept) and the shopping list, your equipment and settings, your own ingredients and prices, and your fermentation readings. Keep it somewhere safe, or use it to move to a new phone. Your logins (RAPT, your account) aren’t in it, so you sign in again after importing.
  • Import backup adds what’s in such a file. Newer copies of recipes replace older ones; stock you already have keeps its amounts (only ingredients you have none of are added); nothing on the phone is deleted. Your settings and equipment stay as they are unless you tick Replace my settings and equipment.
  • Export stock as CSV and Export shopping list as CSV make a spreadsheet file, to open in Excel or Google Sheets, take into another system, or send to the shop.

Help

At the bottom of Settings, Help has the start-up log, the app version and Check for updates. Tap the version to copy it when you report a problem.
