Simpsons Crystal Medium Malt

Simpsons® Medium Crystal Malt is produced by thoroughly converting and caramelizing the internal sugars of green malt under controlled conditions, then roasting to achieve a balanced amber hue (80–120 EBC). With a fine-dry extract of 78 % and no diastatic power, it must be mashed alongside a fully diastatic base malt. Inclusion at 1–10 % of the grist imparts toffee and soft caramel flavors, enriches mouthfeel, and supports stable foam, while contributing a warm amber color. Ideal for pale and amber ales, Märzens, Kölsches, and malt-forward Belgian styles, this malt brings subtle sweetness and depth without overpowering hop character. Packaged in 25 kg sacks and shelf-stable for at least two years when stored cool and dry, it’s a versatile tool for crafting balanced, visually appealing beers.
